The Cisco Unity Connection Web Inbox lets you manage voice messages from a Web GUI. It as Web Voicemail feature introduces Cisco Unity Connection 8.X onwards. This feature provides flexible and hassle free administration of users voice mail apart from the legacy voicemail access via Telephone User Interface (TUI).
You can compose new voice messages, and play, reply to, forward, or delete the voice messages from this web inbox. Deleting voicemails becomes a challenging task for voice mail users, I feel Unity Web Inbox feature really handy feature while you want to delete the voice messages.
In this article, I would like to share how to setup and enable Cisco Unity Connection Web inbox feature.

Step 1: Create a Class of Service in Cisco Unity Connection
Login to Cisco Unity Connection administration page, go to Class of Service >> Add New
Give a Display Name to the new Class of Service. (eg: Texas_VM_WEB_USER)
Enable the feature ‘Allow Users to Use the Web Inbox and RSS Feeds’
Step 2: Apply Class of Service to the User
Go to Users and select the user who wants to use web inbox feature. Point the Class of Service that we just created in Step 1.
Step 3: Login to Cisco Unity Connection Web Inbox
The Web inbox tool can be accessed via the following link.
Once you login, you will be able to manage your voicemails.
Wow! You have successfully configured the Web inbox for Cisco Unity Connection User.
Troubleshooting Cisco Unity Connection Web Inbox
The common error which I have seen in the industry so far is about the error message “Message access not enabled” that pops up when user is trying to login to Web Inbox. Now let’s take a look at how to troubleshoot “Cisco Unity Connection Web Inbox Message Access Not Enabled” issue.
Cause: “Allow Users to Use the Web Inbox and RSS Feeds” feature is not enabled in Class of Service.
Workaround: Create a Class of Service with “Allow Users to Use the Web Inbox and RSS Feeds” enabled and apply to the user (Explained in Step 1 & 2).
